Mobile Synthesis Unit (MOBSU) on wheels

VTT and INERATEC Mobile Synthesis Unit was transported to Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) to realize the Soletair concept.

On Tuesday  9th of May, VTT Mobile Synthesis Unit (MOBSU) was transported from VTT Bioruukki piloting facilities in Espoo to Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) facilities in Lappeenranta (250 km away). This is the first time that MOBSU was transported to a different location. It is planned that MOBSU stays at LUT facilities during the summer for the realization of the Soletair concept. During the beginning of the stay, MOBSU is integrated with the H2 production unit from solar energy and CO2 capture from air unit. The three units will operate together to make the most of the long days of the Finnish summer. Then, MOBSU will be transported back to Espoo at the end of August.

Arrival of MOBSU to LUT premises

Yet, this is just the first ride of many. MOBSU will be transported next year to Frankfurt (Germany) for realizing another concept in CO2 utilization.
