On the first of February the biggest start-up exhibition in Baden Württemberg took place. Around 400 start-ups, among them the INERATEC team with brand-new hoodies, came together at the fair in Stuttgart to present their ideas and companies, to network and be inspired.
There was a prominent opening to the day: prime minister Kretschmann and the minister of economic affairs Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut welcomed the 5.000 participants. “The summit shows the fresh start-up spirit of our country. We want to develop and strengthen the network and increase our visibility – in Baden-Württemberg and worldwide. We want to raise the attraction of Baden-Württemberg as a start-up site.” Looking at the 75 international exhibitors the first step towards the internationalization of the regional start-up scene has been taken.
Besides the exhibition there was a varied program with guests from all over the world: Dr. Auma Obama, founder of the Auma Obama Foundation Sauti Kuu in Africa as well as the Israeli General Consul Sandra Simovich gave an insight into the start-up scene in their home countries.
Our managing director Philipp also had a busy day. On top of the schedule was the short meeting with Winfried Kretschmann: after introducing our idea we had the chance to show one of our core products, a synthetic fuel and have a chat about their potential in cities that struggle with polluted air. The rest of the participants had the chance to hear our pitch on one of the side stages and at our booth, where Johannes was busy to provide information to all the visitors.
The day ended with a highlight – Philipp was invited to take part in the panel of founders who shared their start-up success stories, ranging from the 80’s until today. Experiences and anecdotes were shared, as well as tips for founders (to be): a motivated, reliable team is key for the company’s success.
