Karlsruhe, Germany, 11th April 2022
On the way to a future with sustainable aviation. On 11th April 2022, INERATEC received the German Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and Transport, Dr. Volker Wissing and a delegation from the Safran Group at the Karlsruhe site.

During a tour of the company’s production facilities, the role of synthetic fuels, so-called e-fuels, concerning their use in aviation was discussed. With the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, INERATEC and Safran announce their intention to intensify their cooperation for a successful energy transition in aviation. In the coming years, both companies will focus on joining forces to strive for technical demonstration, evaluation of feasibility at the economic and environmental levels, and accelerate the development of the e-fuels ecosystem in the aviation industry.

“Sustainable e-kerosene from our power-to-liquid plants has the potential to make aviation CO2-neutral. With strong industry partners like Safran, we will be able to accelerate the availability of our synthetic kerosene,” said INERATEC’s CEO Tim Böltken.

“This technological partnership between INERATEC and Safran shows that our industries are ready to commit to making aviation CO2-neutral. This partnership commitment is necessary, if we are to offer propulsion technologies and synthetic fuels suitable for this sustainable aviation” underlined Alexandre Ziegler.
