Fueling the Future - a journey that needs strong partnerships

INERATECs pioneer plant in Frankfurt, Germany is an important technological milestone for e-Fuel production and a prime example of strong partnerships driven by a joint goal. Our collaboration with Infraserv Höchst, the operating company of the industrial park, has been instrumental in turning INERATEC’s vision of a commercial scale e-Fuel production into reality.

Our journey began back in 2016, when Infraserv’s passion for innovative technology, the willingness to take risks and the commitment to pioneering solutions laid an optimal foundation for our collaboration. The first joint research project enabled INERATEC to prove our technology in an industrial environment – and we have come a long way since then.

By the end of this year, the main part of our pioneer plant will be completed, setting the stage for extensive testing in preparation for the commissioning phase in early 2025. We are looking forward to starting operations shortly thereafter. Deliveries of additional containers for the third and final module are already underway.

Infraserv has provided key synergies for the project. They will supply the main feedstocks for the Power-to-Liquid plant: CO2 and hydrogen. The CO2 comes from a biogas plant and is being recycled in the e-Fuel production. The hydrogen is a a byproduct from chlorine production. In addition to these basic feedstocks, Infraserv provides INERATEC with resources such as electricity, water, and compressed air. On top of that, they offer infrastructural support like site security, assist with regulatory procedures such as BImSchG (Federal emission control acts), and offer expertise in operational matters.

Decarbonizing industries is a joint effort, which is reflected in the combination of INERATEC’s innovative e-Fuel technology with Infraserv’s expertise and resources.
